15/02/26 ๐Ÿ‘€

Currently watching a video by Dr Mindy Pelz, she's one of the 'influencers' I watch and respect. She is quite female centric but is an actual doctor who believes in this stuff because she's seen the results.

In this particular video she's talking about what she is letting go of in 2026--Interesting.

First thing which has really resonated with me is she's stopping counting, everything, scales, bloods, sleep time etc and moving to an intuitive approach. This is what I want, A sustainable lifestyle for the rest of my life. Lets see what else she has.

Oh fuck this is getting bigger than Ben Hur, you see every new thing that I see or read about which I truly believe will help me I have to incorporate into my life. So number two is ditch the gym and concentrate on functional fitness, stuff that gets you fit but isn't a strict regime. I guess I was never planning on the gym being all or nothing rather more of an all round fitness tool. I love walking so I want to be able to get back to that, I want to do Rucking and cycling. I actually believe that Metal detecting (a very short lived hobby I didn't stick to mostly due to laziness and lack of fitness might fit into this category very nicely -walking in nature, stopping starting, hills, digging, getting up and down, leg strength, arm strength its got it all) Nice.

Ok so number 3 is I'm not in anyone else's hurry, not bad and for the most part that is something I already incorporate. Saying that I have put a timeline on this years results and some other things.
Side note to this: I have noticed with my current mental state and I mean that in a good way, I feel great, sleep great, feel strong and fit or fitter even though I haven't really started any work on fitness but what I have noticed is when I'm in traffic I'm calm and not stressed which I would of been in the past. The other day i literally stopped for 5-10 minutes in one spot, people were freaking out but I just sat there chilled and eventually we got there no stress. One thing that has always stuck with me that someone told me, it was a truck driver and I was talking about driving in traffic, I said doesn't it drive you crazy? he answered No you always get where you're going. Its funny while I say that its etched into my brain so much that when I'm on the freeway in heavy traffic I'll quite happily sit behind a truck because I know they'll get there eventually, also bonus is its highly unlikely anyone will squeeze into the gap because no one likes to be stuck behind a truck.

I've paused the video, I need to eat something.

So 4 is to prioritize health over productivity, health comes first, I'll go deeper into that at some stage.

5 is Stop consuming so much crap, not in so many words but I do agree if you watch for instance the four doctors I do on all this stuff they are all pretty much in agreeance but add in doomscrolling other reels and you'll see a lot of contradictions, pick what you're interested in and go deep. And go old school reading studying etc. Good idea that.
